Belted Kingfisher

Birds have a high visibility in nature and a marvelous aesthetic appeal making them a beloved subject to study both by professonals and amateurs.

Many naturalists and painters have been drawing birds non better than the American ornithologist, naturalist and painter John James Audubon with his work The Birds of America. 

These powdery blue-gray beauties are energetic in flight and exude an air of self-importance as they patrol their river and shorelines.
